“I’m fine” … but are you, really?

The Mental Health foundation has launched a campaign to encourage us all to be more open about our mental health and more honest about how we are really feeling. Many of us, if asked, give the standard answer “I’m fine” even when we’re not. We feel that we should at least appear to be coping; that we don’t want to upset people close to us or be perceived as weak or lacking in some way. But continuing to do this just maintains the idea that it isn’t OK to talk about our mental health.  Here at Oasis-Talk, people often tell us that it’s the first time they’ve been able to talk freely about their problems: Those who attend our courses regularly comment “It’s good to know I’m not on my own”. Let’s see if together we can bring mental health out into the open.  Find out more about the campaign…
