Oasis-Talk gets approval to provide therapies under AQP scheme

We’re delighted to announce that Oasis Talking Therapies (Oasis-Talk) has been approved as an Any Qualified Provider (AQP) of psychological therapies to NHS South Gloucestershire and NHS Bristol primary care trusts.

From today, under the AQP initiative, we have started providing counselling, cognitive behavioural therapy and a range of group workshops from our base in Downend and from doctors’ surgeries and community venues across South Gloucestershire and Bristol.

Oasis-Talk has been formed by a group of people previously involved in delivering primary care counselling and workshops for South Gloucestershire NHS primary care trust over many years.

Vicki Palmer, Oasis-Talk clinical and managing director, says: “We’ve seen so many people turn their lives around through counselling and other forms of talking therapy. That’s why we’re committed to working in NHS primary care. We believe effective psychological services should be available free at the point of use and in the local community. Therapy shouldn’t just be for those who can afford it.”

Most people we see at Oasis-Talk come to us via an NHS referral. We also offer therapy privately.
