What we’re about

“Over many years, we’ve seen so many people turn their lives around through counselling and other forms of talking therapy.

“That’s why we’re committed to working in NHS primary care. We believe effective psychological services should be available free at the point of use and in the local community. Therapy shouldn’t just be for those who can afford it.”

Widening access

“As a social enterprise, we aim to make a positive impact on the mental wellbeing of the local communities we serve in Bristol and South Gloucestershire.

“We seek to be creative in using the available resources to reach more people who need talking therapies. As well as offering our services from GP surgeries, we seek out community venues from which to work. We’re also developing a way to offer low-cost private therapy to those who need more help than is available through the NHS.”

Client-centred approach

“It is important that the therapeutic approach fits the person and the issues they bring. One size does not fit all. This is why we offer a range of ways of working.

“Because we want therapy to be as effective as possible, we seek frequent feedback from clients using our services. They tell us what is working and what isn’t so their therapy can be adjusted accordingly.

“We place a lot of emphasis on training and supporting our staff so that they can deliver their best work for our clients. As part of encouraging the professional development of our practitioners, we ask them to develop their practice through supervision, training and research.”
