Freelance Facilitators Required

Oasis-Talk is a not-for-profit organisation that provides a variety of psycho-educational courses for NHS (IAPT) patients and community groups at venues throughout Bristol and South Glos (see our Courses page for details). We are looking for a small number of caring and experienced course facilitators to join our freelance pool.

NHS (IAPT) courses consist of 6-8 weekly sessions and are usually 1.5 hours long (2 hours including preparation time) and may be delivered during the day or in the early evening. The role includes basic administrative tasks associated with course delivery, and you may need to call clients at home from time to time.

We are also currently running a variety of shorter courses and “taster” sessions, including sessions for older adults in the Black & Minority Ethnic communities around Bristol. These sessions may involve the use of an interpreter. We are also expanding our Workplace Wellbeing sessions and are looking for facilitators to support this.

You will need a good knowledge of CBT interventions and previous experience of facilitating groups, ideally within a mental health context. You should be able to communicate engagingly and effectively with service users of all backgrounds and abilities, and be confident in managing risk. Course materials and lesson plans will be provided.

You will need to be flexible with regards to location, and prepared to deliver courses in the early evening if required (usually 5.45 till 7.45pm). These roles are on a self-employed basis, so you will be responsible for your own tax and should have Professional Indemnity Insurance. You will also need a DBS check (this can be arranged if required).

Please note that joining the pool is not a guarantee of regular employment.

Closing date for applications is April 26th  2019.
