Living Well with Long Term Health Conditions
About this Event
About the Course
This 6 week course will be run by course leaders who have a special interest in supporting people with long-term health conditions. The course will be friendly and informal, and will provide a chance to meet and share your experience with others who are living with health challenges.
The course consists of 6 x 90 minute sessions held weekly, via zoom. It is a closed group so once it has started, no new people will be added for the 6 weeks. There are likely to be 10-12 other people on the course.
Using tools and techniques that have been thoroughly researched and shown to be effective, this course will:
- Explore the connection between your physical, mental and emotional health
- Help you to set meaningful, realistic goals and resolve practical problems
- Explore our understanding of the adjustment to living with long-term conditions
- Show you how to tackle unhelpful or negative thinking
- Look at what gets in the way of being kind to yourself
- Communication with loved ones and managing difficulties in relationships
- Explore ways of looking after yourself and managing your energy
- Look at additional sources of help and support

You’ll have an opportunity to try out some of the techniques during the sessions, but do encourage you to put them into practice at home. You will be given resources each week that build into a workbook that you can refer to after the course to help you manage your wellbeing moving forward.
How much does it cost?
Free if you are over the age of 55 and live in Bristol. If you are not eligible for a free place you may still attend the course for £120 for the full 6 weeks.
